Firemen have been under public scrutiny for doing certain things wrong. These things would never have been publicized had they been done by common citizens. Unfair? Maybe. But that’s a burden a role model must bear. Like it or not, firemen, as well as police & emergency responders, are held in high esteem by many. Consequentially, they must act to a higher standard even when not on shift. Failure to do so actually diminishes the esteem in which firemen, police or emergency responders are held.
