Leave No One Behind: The Med Sled

The cost-effective Med Sled enables staff to easily & efficiently transport non-ambulatory individuals.

As essential as they are, backboards can be bulky & heavy, making easy transport a difficult proposition in some situations. This can include emergency procedures for evacuating non-ambulatory patients, students and staff. People who attempt to rescue these patients may not have the strength or skill to transport these patients out of the building, especially when stairs are involved.

In response to a growing need for viable, cost-effective & efficient transport solutions, ARC Products developed the Med Sled to ensure no one is left behind.

In the wake of disasters such as September 11 and Hurricane Katrina, hospitals, school districts and nursing homes across the country are reviewing their disaster preparedness plans. In response to this growing need and demand for viable, cost-effective, easy and efficient transport solutions, St. Louis-based ARC Products developed the Med Sled to ensure no one is left behind. The Med Sled enables staff to easily transport non-ambulatory individuals. They can even use the Med Sled to move the patient down a stairwell in order to exit a multi-floor building.

The ease of use featured in the Med Sled comes in the form of the ‘roll and drag’ method, which ensures heavy lifting is not required. Anyone can use this product with little training. Best of all, the design allows the rescuer to move heavier patients with relative ease.

Med Sled is a rescue solution for a number of facility & organization types:
